I only got to the chapter before Indonesia in Eat, Pray, Love, so I’m psyched because this film looks really good, as if Julia Roberts threw herself into the role …It is the ultimate book/film for this blog, isn’t it? Three countries, all so different, and travel as transformation.

Do you mean you stopped reading because you didn’t like the book? I had very mixed feelings about the book and how genuine an experience it was. That is why I have not written about it here. But I think the movie may be a more appropriate way to tell this particular story.

I’m interested in your reaction to the book, Vera. I absolutely loved it, and I can’t wait to see the movie. The concensus from my book club was that all of us were drawn to one of the sections, and none of us could agree which one was best. Personally, I loved the richly drawn characters in Bali.
On a side note, is it just me or does Julia Roberts NEVER age?
