vera,
they've both been made into movies, which I actually like better than the books themselves.

Vera, you have my itchy travel feet twitching for a trip to Australia. I've been to Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and even Freemantle. But I'm an off-the-beaten-path kind of traveler and this sounds like just my style. Until I can take that Australian trip, I'll put the movie high up on my queue at Netflix.

I've not seen this movie yet either, but The Man from Snowy River and All the Rivers Run got me hooked many years ago.
