My lucky day!  I received three books by Robert Todd Felton.  I won his books in a raffle supporting Heifer International. In case you missed it, the raffle was conducted late last year by a group of travel bloggers, and Felton, who blogs at Open Page–Open Road, donated books. The new additions to my travel library:

  • A Journey into the Transcendentalists’ New England
  • A Journey into Ireland’s Literary Revival
  • Walking Boston

Oh, sweet dilemma.  Where shall I start?

Okay, I have peeked at the openings. He is an excellent writer.  Have you read his books?

Thank you for the kind comments. I think you should start with the Irish one to get you in the mood for Saint Patrick’s Day, switch to Walking Boston to plan out a summer visit, and then go to the Transcendentalists in the fall. In any case, I hope they inspire a trip out East.

    Best,

    Todd

Nothing like having a recommendation from the author! Thanks, Todd.

Isn’t that excellent! I also won a fabulous prize through that Heifer.org raffle.

Will have to check out Walking Boston myself as my husband and I are heading there in April.

Hi Jen: Welcome to A Traveler’s Library. I hope you’ll bookmark me and come back often. What did you win on the Heifer raffle? I really got lucky with these books, and also won the Traveling Mamas miscellaneous travel gifts.
I love San Diego. Any literature that people should add to their reading list before going to San Diego?

    Hi Vera,

    Thanks for the welcome :)

I won two books by travel writer Dave Fox AND a one hour consultation with him to discuss my writing. I’ve put that on hold while I take my first travel writing class from writers.com.

I was excited to find your site; a few days ago I’d been searching the ‘net, looking for books set in Quebec City (that will be the second half of our Boston trip), but running against a wall. If you have some suggestions, would love to hear about them.

Will work on a list for San Diego. I don’t get the time to read as much as I want. Never enough time in the day!

I read the biography of a famous nun (and Saint) Marguerite Bourgeoys from Montreal when I was in that area–close as I can come to Quebec. http://tinyurl.com/bju6ek

I would also think that David McCullough’s biography of John Adams would be a good read for Boston.

I understand you not having lots of time. I had 3 boys.
